January's Altered Arts Challenge

This month I have the pleasure of issuing the challenge for the SSPT blog, and while I enjoy a large range of crafting techinques my most favorite is altering items. So look around your home, scrap room or visit a Arts & Craft store and find something to alter. It can be a piece of wood, a glass block, paper mache, a clipboard or just about anything! There are two exceptions...... yes you guessed it, no cards or scrapbook page layouts. The prize will be a Cricut French Manor cart. make sure to link your creations below. Altered Valentine Mini Tin Mailbox

Deborah's January Challenge

For this challenge I decided to alter a glass block for my GD Rian. I used a file from myvinyldesigner.com and some cuts from the Hello Kitty Font cart. I used "etch" colored vinyl to create the frosted look on the block. I threw in some stickers, buttons & ribbon and this is what I came up with. Looking forward to seeing your creations so make sure that you link your project submissions below on the January 2, 2011 post so that you can be entered to win the French Manor cart.

Linda's January Challenge Project

Hi, everyone!
If you are like me, your scrapbooking tools are taking over! I never seem to have enough containers to hold them all. So, I altered a plain old coffee can to serve as a tool caddy. I covered the can with paper, then fussy cut the border and added it. Tons of Stickles were then added to the images. Then, I used my Imagine to create some embellishments for the back side using the Lori's Garden cartridge.(the first picture is the back side with the Lori's Garden images.) Once that was done (you can see the project at this stage in the last pic) I felt it needed some dimension, so I broke out my Viva Decor pearl pen and went to town adding pearl drops to the design. The ribbon isn't ribbon at all! It's rayon seam binding that I colored with alcohol inks! Hope you like it!!

Lynne's January Challenge!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday and a terrific New Year so far! I hope you all got lots of crafting goodies under your tree!!
For this challenge, I used some plain ole' cardboard sheets and turned it into a recipe book! I also used my cricut for the letters and a couple flowers!! On the inside are colored index cards to seperate the recipe types!


Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Sizzix Slide Card

I made this card with my Big Shot Pro. I used Marianne Design dies for the Poinsettia flower and a Cuttlebug folder for the embossing. Merry Christmas to everyone.....Deborah.

Christmas Goodies

It's not too late to get in an entry(or 2 or 3) for this month's challenge. I have been making a few things here and there, but I especially love these little goodies that the kids and I made to share with their classmates on the last day of school for this year. The candy canes were hot glued together and then we cut gingerbread men and reindeer from the Cricut using Doodlecharms and Just Because Cards. Added some red noses and google eyes and some faux stitching to finish them. The stockings were cut with Doodlecharms. There are 2 glued together leaving an opening for a lollipop. Wouldn't these make perfect last minute stocking stuffers?

Here is the card I made for this year!! I just love that snowman stamp!! I used my nestabilities to cut the rectangles out and used my cuttlebug to emboss the green one!

Anything Goes in December

Are you ready for a Christmas present? Well you can win the presents pictured here by participating in this month's challenge.

I know, I know, you are all too busy with all your holiday creations. Well this month's theme is easy-peasy. Anything goes. That's right you can link up whatever you are already making, even if it's just your holiday baking. The only requirement is that you use paper of some kind. Hey everyone, Well I finally got my computer back up and seems to be working, Here are pictures of my purses. The first Two Purses are made out of File Folders that I got at the local Staples Office Supply Store... Arent they Cute??? And the Christmas one has Little Jingle Bells hanging on the Handle too....

So Lets see some more of everyone elses purses too.

An altered notebook

Here is a notebook I made previously. I love altering notebooks..I like how you can make them personal for whatever theme you want! This one was for the Ronald McDonald House..someone was taking a collection of them and I couldn't wait to make one!

October Notebook Challenge

Hey there, it's Teri and I have my mini notebooks to show you! They actually went in a swap, so I hope my partner isn't looking here yet! They are quite simple, I figured she can use them to jot down little things her kids say and do, so she can even keep them in her purse, hence, the no ribbons/bling to get pulled off! Hope you like them!

Hi Dandi Crafters. It is my turn to host the challenge this month and serve up the blog candy. Since it is October I could be obvious and make it a Halloween challenge but I LOVE notebooks. The challenge this month to make a notebook. You can break out the Bind It All, or The Cinch, alter a composition book, make a post it notebook, make is mini or full size, square or shaped it doesn't matter, just make some sort of notebook.
